Kathryn M. Brown, CFP®, ChFC®, CAP®

Katie Brown helps clients connect their money with their purpose, empowering them to build meaningful lives and legacies. She brings clarity to financial portfolios, building confidence by showing clients how their wealth is invested, where they have flexibility, and how it aligns with their core values.

By taking the time to understand what matters most to individuals, couples, and families, she provides thoughtful planning and guidance that turns financial anxiety into optimism.

Katie’s passion for helping families plan for both the best and worst moments comes from personal experience. When Katie’s grandfather passed away suddenly, her mother was still a child, and her grandmother was left without financial guidance due to the absence of a will. The family navigated many challenges—many of which could have been avoided with proper estate planning and financial transparency.

“Money can fund your purpose, but it can’t find it. I want to shift the conversation about money—from focusing on return on investment to considering it as your return on life.”

KATIE BROWN

In 2017, Katie was surprised by a breast cancer diagnosis. Looking back, she is grateful for the proactive planning that allowed her to focus on her health (she is now cancer-free!) rather than worrying about her family’s financial well-being. She carries that experience into her work, helping clients prepare for life’s uncertainties and build a confident future.

Now, as a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy®, Katie integrates charitable planning into estate strategies, helping clients shape their legacy with purpose.

Katie’s journey into financial advising was intentional. Early on, she worked at the front counter and supported back-office operations at her parents’ shipping company, learning firsthand the grit and diligence required for small business success. She went on to study economics, finance, and entrepreneurial studies in college, further strengthening her foundation. After starting her career as a financial advisor, she was soon offered a management role at a financial firm. These experiences ultimately equipped and inspired her to co-found Morton Brown Family Wealth in 2018.

Community is at the heart of Katie’s work. She actively shares her time, talent, and financial expertise with nonprofit organizations in the Lehigh Valley. As a business leader, she surrounds herself with a network of professionals who support the firm’s growth. Within Morton Brown, she and Dennis are building a team—a community—of dedicated professionals who are reimagining the financial industry by prioritizing people over products and transforming the way clients engage with their wealth.

Outside the office, Katie loves to be outdoors. She is an avid runner, regularly competing in marathons and half-marathons. In the winter, she enjoys skiing with her family. Inspired by the working moms in her life—especially her own—she embraces the balance of pursuing her professional passions while cheering on her children, Caleb and Amelia, in their own pursuits as they explore soccer, tennis, and their personal interests.
